craniosacral therapy

With a trained pair of hands and a listening heart, craniosacral therapy can create and allow for one of the most healing spaces we can enter. With our attention, the craniosacral wave can be felt as a rhythm and a field. I use light touch on the body and focused attention to listen to the subtle-body, and in doing so the mind and soul are soothed. Our bodies hold all the experiences we have had and when given attention can help bring insight to our state of being and help us process our present feelings. When the body is given a chance to slow down, effective change can unlock tension and lessen uncomfortable symptoms. The term “craniosacral” describes the landscape of the body consisting of the multiple bones of the cranium, the brain, membranes, and spine, the sacrum, and the nervous system. The movement, or lack of movement, in this system has physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual impacts on our lives. When there are blockages or restrictions in the natural rhythm, sometimes called the “Breath of Life”, the system will alert us with uncomfortable symptoms: pain, tension, anxiety, or mental suffering. A trained craniosacral therapist “listens” to the body with a keen sense of where the stuck places exist in the bones and tissues and gently guides them to a release, returning the system to a freer flow. This generally improves our outlook and helps us move through life with greater ease.
